The Boston Cannons

behind the cage

One of the oldest sports in North America is quickly becoming one of the most popular. There has been huge growth among youth leagues and an expansion of teams in the pro circuit over the past decade.

To capitalize on this upswing, the Boston Cannons, a Major League Lacrosse (MLL) professional men’s field lacrosse team based in Boston, wanted to show a different side of the team and players in an effort to boost season ticket sales. To do this, BG BrandLab combined sports reporting with human-focused storytelling in a compelling 10-article series. Stories covered the lives and ambitions of leading players, shadowed their diehard fans, and even followed teammates as they helped inspire young urban lacrosse players through a diversity program.
