Angus Macaulay

Chief Commercial Officer

Angus Macaulay is the Chief Commercial Officer of Boston Globe Media, overseeing commercial growth for Globe Advertising & Events, Boston.com, The B-Side, and Boston magazine. He leads the collaboration and integration for these brands to drive growth.

In 2014, after co-authoring the comprehensive market assessment that served as the foundation for the launch of STAT, Angus joined STAT in May 2015, bringing nearly 30 years of media experience to build and lead the brand’s business strategy. As he led the growth and profitability of STAT’s business to include advertising, subscriptions, grants, and events, Angus was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2021, with expanded oversight of product and finance.

Before joining STAT, Angus held numerous leadership roles in the media industry at Hearst, Rodale, Conde Nast, and Time Inc., working on a diverse mix of brands including Cosmopolitan, House Beautiful, House & Garden, and Runner’s World. Throughout his career, Angus has been at the forefront of digital product innovation and integrated marketing solutions for clients. Over eight years at Rodale as Publisher of Runner’s World and later as VP of Corporate Sales and Marketing, Angus led numerous initiatives to expand digital presence and build interactive tools, as well as early industry leadership in integrated solutions for clients that included advertising, custom branded content, and branded event activations. Immediately prior to STAT, Angus worked in business development and growth at Pace, an award-winning content marketing agency with clients such as Four Seasons, Verizon, Walmart, and Boston Consulting Group.

Angus is a native of Massachusetts, growing up in Marblehead and currently living in Charlestown with his family. He graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from William & Mary, and a bachelor’s degree from Hobart College.
