Chief Commercial Officer
Kayvan Salmanpour is chief commercial officer at Boston Globe Media.
He previously held a variety of leadership positions in the media industry, where his focus has always been on disrupting traditional revenue models in media and fostering new ways to fund high-quality journalism. Kayvan was one of the founding members of NewsCred, a software company that he helped build into the largest content marketing platform in the world, raising over $95 million in venture financing, generating double digit millions for publishers, and counting many Fortune 500 brands as clients. Kayvan also served as the managing director of Mediaplanet North America, the largest publisher of special reports, sponsored by brands and distributed through the New York Times, the Guardian, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal. Kayvan has also held senior leadership positions at Hearst Digital as their chief content officer and at the Business of Fashion, as president of North America.
Kayvan holds a master’s degree in media law & finance from the London School of Economics.
